Robert Rotar

The conductor and director of BYO1, Robert Rotar is held in high regard in musical circles throughout Queensland. He has regularly been a guest conductor for the Queensland Youth Orchestra, recently conducting QYO2/BYO1 for combined performances on our 2017 and 2019 tours and QYP/BYO1 during their tour to Bundaberg in 2018. Robert conducted Bundaberg Municipal Band for 21 years, and has been guest conductor for Bundaberg Orpheus Singers and Bundaberg Sinfonietta. 


Robert is an instrumental music specialist at St. Luke's Anglican School in Bundaberg. 

Delwyn Ainsworth

Delwyn was appointed Acting Conductor of BYO2 for 2019 following the retirement of our long term BYO2 Conductor Mr Barry Davis.


Delwyn was Assistant Conductor of BYO2 in 2018, and was guest conductor of Bundaberg Symphony Orchestra in 2016. She was one of the conductors of the combined choir/orchestra during the Richard Gill Boot Camp Concert in 2013 joined by participants from Bundaberg Orpheus Singers and Bundaberg Youth Orchestra. Delwyn played flute for the Shalom College musical orchestra for their musical "Annie" in 2018 and on tour with BYO1 in 2017 and 2019.  In 2016 she sang with Queensland Symphony Orchestra and Orpheus for a performance of "Messiah" under the direction of Gordon Hamilton at the Moncrieff. Delwyn also plays pipe organ, and was a percussionist with Queensland Wind and Brass. Delwyn teaches Early Childhood Music at Acorn Centres.
